Busan gave Korea its coastal middle chapter

Busan was easier than Seoul. Sea views, colorful hillsides, warm bowls, and cafe breaks that made the cold easier.

Busan in short: less formal than Seoul, and prettier between stops.

Enough going on to fill the days, but the sea calmed everything down. Best bits: sea views, Gamcheon's colors, a big table of food, warm soup, and one cafe break that made things feel less rushed.

First impression

Everything relaxed once the water showed up

Busan felt different from Seoul almost straight away. Still busy, but the sea slowed it down. Less formal, more open, and I didn't need to plan every minute.

The hillside streets have the most personality. Narrow paths, colorful walls, lots of up and down. Plenty to look at, no big landmark needed.

The sea kept showing up between stops

The coastal rail and the sea views are why Busan works in the middle. A break for the eyes after Seoul's packed streets, before heading back north.

The cafe wasn't a sight, and it didn't need to be. Sit inside, slow down, then go find the next warm meal.
